Hamilton Proper is a suburban lifestyle community of rental flats and townhomes located within a luxury golf course community. Here, a mix of building architectural styles, scales and unit types were important to fit the context of the multimillion dollar custom homes and to provide the type of lifestyle active luxury apartment residents demand.
The infill suburban site needed to have complete front elevation oriented streetscapes wrapping the north, east and west edges with architectural style and scale matching the custom homes found around this parcel of land. The south edge has a rear yard adjacency to custom homes. Because of this context the southern buildings reduced in scale to match the height and footprint of the southern neighbors and the buildings were positioned to have a similar rear yard condition.
The architectural styles vary significantly between buildings. Three story architecture steps down to a two story height at the site edges to be in line with existing custom homes in the area.
Story and a half townhome units with attached garages anchor the ends of three story flats buildings. A variety of masonry types and colors as well as architectural styles continue the look of custom homes at the edges of the community.
Single unit three story coach homes with private garages and outdoor balconies provide unique lifestyle options for residents. The central community building anchors the view at the end of the entry boulevard.
The clubhouse game room, outdoor grilling kitchen and lounge space all overlook the central water feature and storm water detention facility.
At the opposite side of the clubhouse, waterfront amenities continue to be the focus with outdoor lounging space and a pool accented with fountain features.
