The homeowner envisioned a European inspired country estate design on a sloping wooded lot with main living spaces overlooking the wooded ravine below. A separate multigenerational apartment was also desired for a family member with their own private garage and entry. The rambling floor plan bent around the existing topography to allow vistas up and down the ravine as well as directly across the nature habitat area.
A circular drive allows for guests to park near the home's stone entry porch. The auto court is tucked back behind the front of the home so that garages and driveways are secondary and not part of the visual focus of the front of the home.
The rear architecture allows for views across, up and down the natural ravine behind the home.
The home plan was designed as a series of spaces with the private master suite being on one end of the home and a private apartment on the other end of the home. A public formal living and dining room are located near the foyer. The day to day living areas overlook the view on the rear of the home.
The upper level decks and outdoor space are tucked to the side of the home so that the lower and upper level public spaces are not blocked by the deck areas and are fully open to the views into the wooded ravine.
